This Friday – HALLOWEEN NIGHT – at Preservation Pub. The Vibraslaps will be playing some of their usual catalog, but will also be playing a special set as Spinal Tap. Come and Smell The Glove this Friday.

Vibraslaps Return to Wild Wings
This Saturday night – April 19 – The Vibraslaps return to Wild Wings Cafe in Farragut – no cover – showtime 9:30 pm. If you haven’t checked us out yet, now is a good time – www.vibraslaps.com.
The Vibraslaps to Pillage Farragut
The Vibraslaps will be bringing their unique brand of semi-obscure covers and one hit wonders to Wild Wings Cafe in Farragut next Thursday night, March 6. Show starts at 9:30 pm sharp. Come on out – I don’t care if it’s a school night.
Hallowqueen at World Grotto This Saturday
This Saturday, October 27, The Vibraslaps will team up with Angel and the Love Mongers for a Halloween Queen night at Knoxville’s World Grotto on Market Square. The Black Cadillacs will open the show, followed by the Vibraslaps and Angel Zuniga as Queen, followed by the Vibraslaps’ mix of obscure covers taking you into the wee hours.
There will be no better place to (a) celebrate or (b) drown your sorrows after the Tennessee/South Carolina football game, so even if you’re going to the game, head down to World Grotto because the show will be starting late.
Here are some clips from the first Queen night at the Preservation Pub back in 2005. Come out and see this one before the Brian May wigs get put in the closet once and for all…
Vibraslaps at Barley’s This Weekend!
The Vibraslaps return to the Knoxpatch music landscape this weekend – Friday night, August 17 at Barley’s Tap Room in the Old City.
You can see some pix from the last Barley’s gig at the Vibraslaps’ My Space page here – www.myspace.com/thevibraslaps.
For the uninitiated, The Vibraslaps are a cover band comprised of members of Angel and the Love Mongers, Nug Jug, among others, playing slightly obscure covers from the 60s – 90s. The setlist includes semi-favorites from Tom Petty, XTC, The Police, Elvis Costello, Queen, The Smiths, Beatles, The Pixies, Foo Fighters, and a bunch more.
A good time is sure to be had by all and Barley’s has the best beer selection around so come on out!
The Humanist Queen – On Sale Now
The new CD from Angel and the Love Mongers – THE HUMANIST QUEEN – is now on sale at CD Baby.
The new album was mixed and co-produced by Mitch Easter (Let’s Active, R.E.M, among others) and is quite a departure from Angel’s debut CD. Check out CD Baby or Angel’s My Space page for song samples
Disgraceland at Bonnarroo & Kill Devil Hill
We’ve got a double-dose of breaking news for you weary web travelers.
Angel & the Love Mongers at Bonnaroo
First and foremost, Disgraceland artist Angel and the Love Mongers has been selected to play the Bonnaroo Music Festival June 14-17 in Manchester, TN.
2007 is turning out to be a big year for Angel and Company as they’ve just finished mixing and mastering the new album, titled The Humanist Queen. The album was mixed and co-produced by legendary producer Mitch Easter (REM, Let’s Active, among many others) and was recently mastered by Nashville mastering guru Jim Demain.
The new album is a completely different experience than Angel’s 2005 debut CD – visit Angel’s website for more info on the new CD and check out Angel’s Myspace page for song samples.
For the uninitiated, check out Angel’s Bonnaroo page for more info and a pretty interesting bio.
ALSO AT BONNAROO – Smokin’ Dave and the Premo Dopes – Disgraceland mainstays and Knoxville rock legends. Just another great reason to attend Bonnaroo this year.
KILL DEVIL HILL
Longtime Friend of Disgraceland and former Nevers guitarist Rick Tiller has thrown together a new project and we’ve got it here at Disgraceland. The band is Kill Devil Hill and you can get a sneak peak at the project at their new website.
From the bio…
A decade after the Knoxville, TN band Leaf disbanded, founding members Matt Allen, Rick Tiller (The Nevers) and Jay Daniel (Jag Star) return with a brand new band – Kill Devil Hill.
Allen and Tiller reconnected at a time when both were free of any other band obligations and Kill Devil Hill was originally designed as a collaborative outlet for the many demos each had recorded seperately over the years. With the duo residing on opposite coasts, Kill Devil Hill decided to take an unconventional approach to recording an album together – the United States Postal Service.

Vibraslaps Return Engagement This Friday
The Vibraslaps return to the Preservation Pub this Friday night in Knoxville. Friday night the band bids farewell as Johnny Del Fuego has quit the band, but promised to play “one last show for you scumbags.”
Our last show at Preservation Pub earned us some new fans – we even got some publicity over at Knoxville 520 – your hub for all things Knoxville nightlife. Their review…
I have a new favorite cover band in Knoxville – The Vibraslaps. Made up of members of The French Broads, Angel & the Love Mongers and another group I can’t remember, this little band has a very mature sound, considering they were just recently formed. Last Friday, their extensive and somewhat obscure punk-pop, glam-rock song list had the whole crowd at the Preservation Pub singing and dancing along. As I waited in the long line for the restroom, I was kept occupied by animated (a.k.a. drunken) discussions of, “who sang this originally” and “what the hell’s the name of this song, again?”. I will definitely be making room in my schedule for a little more Vibra-love. (5/5) -K.S.
Sounds like a good enough reason for you to come out to me. Cover charge is cheap and the Pub has a great selection of beer on tap – so come spend Friday night with the Vibraslaps.
Angel and the Love Mongers – This Friday
Come and see Angel & company at the Preservation Pub this Friday. Or else.

Meet The Vibraslaps
This Friday night marks the second gig in as many years for the thrown-together cover-band insanity that is the Vibraslaps. The band was thrown together for charity for the Blue Cats’ Doc Rock show last January and we’ve decided to do it again this year.Â
The band consists of Jim Rivers and John Baker (from the French Broads), Eric Nowinski (Angel & the Love Mongers) and myself, Paul Superapple (too many bands to mention). We’ll be playing a wide-range of obscure and not-so-obscure covers from The Knack, Greg Kihn Band, The Clash, Big Star, Nick Lowe, XTC, Tom Petty, and a whole bunch of other stuff that we just feel like playing for no damn good reason.
The Doc Rock show is a mix of bands that (*gasp*) include doctor/musicians and the entire lineup is playing for East Tennessee healthcare-related charities. It’s good fun for a good cause at Blue Cats – show starts at 7:30 pm prompt this Friday, Jan 5.
You can also catch the Vibraslaps later that same evening at the Preservation Pub – 9:30 pm sharp.Â
For more info on Doc Rock, visit Covenant Health’s website.
Friday Night – Angel and the Love Mongers at Barley’s
This Friday, Angel and the Love Mongers will be making a rare appearance as part of New Rock 90′s Live Funhouse along with Nashville’s BANG BANG BANG. Show is at Barley’s and starts at 9 pm sharp. Get there before we consume their huge variety of beers-on-tap.
Visit Angel’s MySpace site for song samples, pics and other goodies.
