Album Night II Confirmed

Posted by Paul Superapple @ 10:18 pm

The next Disgraceland Album Night at the Preservation Pub is set for Saturday, June 18.

Confirmed so far are Angel and the Love Mongers performing Queen’s Greatest Hits and the Westside Daredevils performing a yet undecided album. We’re excited to have the Daredevils on the bill – they’ve got a new CD coming out soon and word on the street is that it is most excellent.

We have talked with several other artists about the third spot on the bill but haven’t yet set anything in stone. If you’re an artist interested in participating in Album Night, please drop us an email and put “Album Night” in the subject line.

Last time around we were able to raise $311 for the Joy of Music School and hopefully we can top that in June.

Don’t forget to check out the latest from the French Broads and we’ll have some sneak previews from the upcoming Todd Steed and the Suns of Phere CD in our MP3 section very soon. The new Steed record will be out this summer, so get ready!

The new French Broads CD, Better Wings, Better Happiness is now officially on sale in our online shop. The new 8-track CD is the Broads’ traditional guitar-driven power-pop at its best. Go here for song samples and track listing.

LAST MINUTE NOTICE: Todd Steed will be debuting tracks from his upcoming CD on WDVX 89.9 FM tonight. If you’re not in the Knoxville area, you can tune in via the web at WDVX.Com. He’s going to be on Wayne Bledsoe’s show around midnight.

Also tonight, don’t forget to head to The Pizza Kitchen and see Angel and the Love Mongers. Show starts at 8:30 sharp.

Weekend Shows

Posted by Paul Superapple @ 10:26 pm

We’ve got some big shows this weekend.

The French Broads are celebrating the release of their new CD, “Better Wings, Better Happiness,” this Friday, April 8 at the Corner Lounge. The new CD is hot off the presses and will be available here at Disgraceland this weekend – as well as for sale at the show. Opening Friday night will be Nug Jug. The Broads are hoping to get enough beer in the Jug to get them to do a little bit of their Tommy set.

Also this weekend, Saturday night, Angel and the Love Mongers will be appearing at The Pizza Kitchen on Northshore Dr. in Knoxville. It’s a very intimate and unique setting for a show and is a great way to get introduced to Angel & the band. As an added bonus, they’ve got the best pizza in town.

Another band that has been working hard on the road is Plan A – they’re on the road from Virginia down to Florida this month. This week they’re working their way from Virginia Beach down to Miami – so check them out if you’re in the area.
