Disgraceland Records is proud to announce the arrival of the long-awaited new album from Senryu – Pssst.
This is the album that has had the Knoxville music scene abuzz for several months and it is finally available for preorder. All pre-orders will ship no later than next Friday, September 23, just in time for Senryu’s CD Release Party at Barley’s in Knoxville’s Old City Friday night. You can check out some samples at the product page.
You can also check out what Senryu is up to by going to our live page and by visiting Senryu’s My Space website.
We are also excited to finally have Daniel Miller’s Southbound available for sale. Southbound is in-stock and ready to ship.
For those of you unfamiliar with Daniel, he’s a Knoxville ex-pat living in Boston who came down to record his CD with Don Coffey Jr. at Independent Recorders and features Knoxville rock icons Don, Tim Lee, Greg Horne and members of The Rockwells. It’s a great CD and we’re glad to have it.
Check out some samples from Daniel’s CD at the Southbound product page. For more info on Daniel, visit his website.
We’ve added a bunch of live dates to our live page, including an upcoming Autumn on the Square date with Todd Steed and the Suns of Phere opening for Blues Traveler on Thursday, October 6.
In other news, Angel and the Love Mongers have a new website – it’s set up more like a blog so that it will be easier to maintain and update. There will be new photo galleries added in the very near future as well as Angel and the Love Mongers t-shirts available for sale. Check it out! Also check out > Angel’s MySpace website while you’re at it.
That’s it for now – keep checking back for updates!
Here is a reminder about a couple of big shows this week.
First, Angel and the Love Mongers will be appearing Wednesday night – opening for one of the best bands around – The Features. The show is at Blue Cats in the Old City.
Show starts at 8:30 with The Royal Bangs, followed by Angel at 9:30, then The Features.
Also, this week, you’ve got a chance to get up close and personal with Todd Steed and the Suns of Phere at The Disc Exchange South on Chapman Highway in Knoxville. The in-store show is Friday night, September 9. Todd says it’s BYOB.
In non-live-show-related news, look for new CDs here from Senryu and Daniel Miller in September.
The new Senryu CD is called “Pssst…” and will be available here in a few weeks. It’s a high-velocity rock vehicle that would receive a speeding ticket if such a thing was possible. We’re very excited to have it here at Disgraceland as there is already a substantial buzz about the CD from those who have been fortunate enough to hear it.
We’re also excited about Daniel Miller. Dan is from Knoxville, but lives in the Boston area. He recorded his CD Southbound here at Don Coffee’s Independent Recorders and it’s a great sounding album – full of laid-back grooves punctuated with occasional big guitar rock. Dan is also finishing up an EP that we will hopefully have available in the fall.
