Here is a reminder about a couple of big shows this week.
First, Angel and the Love Mongers will be appearing Wednesday night – opening for one of the best bands around – The Features. The show is at Blue Cats in the Old City.
Show starts at 8:30 with The Royal Bangs, followed by Angel at 9:30, then The Features.
Also, this week, you’ve got a chance to get up close and personal with Todd Steed and the Suns of Phere at The Disc Exchange South on Chapman Highway in Knoxville. The in-store show is Friday night, September 9. Todd says it’s BYOB.
In non-live-show-related news, look for new CDs here from Senryu and Daniel Miller in September.
The new Senryu CD is called “Pssst…” and will be available here in a few weeks. It’s a high-velocity rock vehicle that would receive a speeding ticket if such a thing was possible. We’re very excited to have it here at Disgraceland as there is already a substantial buzz about the CD from those who have been fortunate enough to hear it.
We’re also excited about Daniel Miller. Dan is from Knoxville, but lives in the Boston area. He recorded his CD Southbound here at Don Coffee’s Independent Recorders and it’s a great sounding album – full of laid-back grooves punctuated with occasional big guitar rock. Dan is also finishing up an EP that we will hopefully have available in the fall.
