This coming Friday (Oct 2) you can get two scoops of Vibraslaps on the same night.
We’ll be playing for the Wine on the Water benefit for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on Volunteer Landing in Downtown Knoxville. The benefit runs from 6:30 – 9:30 pm and is for a great cause. There will be a ton of great wine, food and, of course, rock – more information here at the Wine on the Water website.
Later that night, we’ll be playing the Preservation Pub downtown in Market Square. So come out early and stay out late!
The video from our Live at Five adventure with Darin Erin’ is now available at WBIR – here it is if you’re like me and too lazy to click on another link. Thanks again to Erin for sangin’ with us.
Hey folks – we’ve got two big events this week for you.
First, the Vibraslaps become television celebrities this week on WBIR’s Live at Five (at Four). We had WBIR’s Darin’ Erin take the stage with us at Wild Wing Cafe back in July and the segment will finally make the show this Wednesday, September 2 on WBIR-TV in Knoxville. Tune in to WBIR at 4 pm (or set your DVR) this Wednesday. Erin has posted a sneak preview here.
Next, we will be playing Preservation Pub on Friday night, September 4. It’s the first time we’ve been back to the Pub since the spring, and we’ll be celebrating drummer Eric’s birthday, so come on down and rock with us on this special occasion.
The Vibraslaps will return to Wild Wing Cafe in Farragut this Thursday night, July 16, with a special twist.
Darin’ Erin Donovan from WBIR-TV’s Live at Five was dared to sing a song with us (see some of her video handiwork here and here), and for some reason has accepted the challenge.
So come out Thursday night for a heapin’ helpin’ of the usual Vibraslaps rock fare and make some noise for Erin (not that we won’t be making enough noise for her on our own…) as she becomes a Vibraslap for a day. See you there!
Greetings all – hope everyone is having a delightful Spring. We’ve been busy with some excellent shows at Wild Wing Cafe and Preservation Pub – a big thank you to those folks who have come out to support us. A lot of you have been making it out to the Thursday night shows, which we know is hard to do and it is much appreciated!
And with it, a couple of Thursday night shows in a row.
This coming Thursday, April 30, we will be at Wild Wing Cafe in Farragut, one of our favorite places to play. Great sound system, delicious beer, fun staff – always a good time. We will fire up around 9:30 – and it’s free.
The following Thursday, May 7, we’ll be appearing at Preservation Pub on Market Square after Sundown in the City. If you haven’t made it out to Sundown yet, it’s one of Knoxville’s best events, hands down. Sundown that night will feature local artists, The Royal Bangs, The Tenderhooks and Same as it Ever Was. So come out for Sundown and stay out with us at the Pub. You’ll get your entertainment dollar’s worth many times over.
This Friday Feb 6 is “First Friday” downtown and we’ll be back at the Preservation Pub into the wee hours. It’s always a party, so come down and have a beer and enjoy some rock.
We will be back at the Valarium on Friday, Feb 27 for our annual appearance at the charity event “Doc Rock for Health”. It’s a fun lineup and it’s for a good cause so come one come all.
Hello, folks and happy new year. It’s been a while, but we’ve been busy.
We spent the fall playing a variety of private parties as well as shows at Preservation Pub, Wild Wing Cafe, Barley’s and out on a flat-bed trailer in freezing temperatures. Our fingers have just now thawed out from that one. We have a couple of shows coming up very soon – one next Thursday, Jan 15 at Wild Wing Cafe in Farragut and another on Friday, Feb 6 at Preservation Pub.
I have also added a new photo gallery here that has some choice shots from some of our Fall adventures, including the Spinal Tap Halloween show. Speaking of Spinal Tap, we posted a video on Youtube of our version of Stonehenge. The audio is a bit distorted because we turned up to 11, but it’s worth a look – if for no other reason than to enjoy the life-sized Stonehenge that Chuck and I put together.
Hope to see you at an upcoming show. Do come by and say hello.
We’ve got two big shows coming up over the next two weeks.
First is this Thursday, Oct 23 at Wild Wings Cafe in Farragut. It’s always a good time, so don’t let the fact that it’s Thursday stop you from coming out to rock with us.
Then comes the BIG HALLOWEEN SHOW where we don our Halloween costumes and go as Spinal Tap for a spooky midnight set. Halloween is on a Friday this year, so come down to Preservation Pub on October 31 for the big show. We’ll be doing some of our usual stuff, then transforming into David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel, Derek Smalls and Micky Shrimpton performing the classics “Big Bottom”, “Hell Hole”, “Sex Farm”, and of course… “Stonehenge.”
Reminder: The Vibraslaps will be playing down at Barley’s in Knoxville’s Old City this Saturday night (Sept. 20) after the Florida game. Come down and enjoy a beer or two with us after we pound the Gaytors. And you know we will. We’ve just been playin’ possum for the last three weeks.
